Stoneridge Camper Conversions
Stoneridge workshop — craftspeople at work

About Us

Built by people who live for the road

Stoneridge was founded in the Peak District by a team of craftspeople and adventurers who believed that a great camper van should be as beautiful as it is functional.

Our Story

Our story

Stoneridge started in 2009 when founder Dan Whitmore converted his first van in a rented garage in Bakewell. What began as a personal project quickly became a passion — and then a business, as friends and neighbours started asking him to build for them too.

Today, Stoneridge operates from a purpose-built workshop in the Peak District, with a team of eight skilled craftspeople. Every van is still built by hand, with the same attention to detail that Dan brought to that first conversion.

We build for families, couples, solo adventurers, and everyone in between. What unites our customers is a love of the outdoors and a belief that the journey is as important as the destination.

What we stand for

Our values

Craftsmanship first

Every joint, every fitting, every finish is done properly. We don't cut corners and we don't use cheap materials. If it's not right, we do it again.

Honest pricing

We quote what it costs and we stick to it. No hidden extras, no surprise invoices. You'll know exactly what you're getting before we start.

Built to last

Our vans are designed to be used hard and loved for years. We use marine-grade materials throughout and back every build with a full 2-year warranty.

Personal service

You'll deal with the same person from first enquiry to handover. We're a small team and we like it that way — it means you always know who to call.

The process

How we build

01

Initial consultation

We start with a conversation about how you want to use your van — where you'll go, who'll travel with you, what matters most. This shapes everything.

02

Design & quote

We produce a detailed layout drawing and a fixed-price quote. No vague estimates — you'll know exactly what you're getting and what it costs.

03

The build

Our team gets to work. Most builds take 6–10 weeks. We send progress photos throughout and you're welcome to visit the workshop at any stage.

04

Handover & warranty

We walk you through every system in the van before you drive away. Your 2-year warranty starts the day you collect it.
